Fish and Grits

Who loves fish n grits? Yes! Hi hellooo! ME! I love just about anything fried. But, this fish, will leave you obsessing. Trust me. If you love fish and love grits. You will love this!

Lets get started


I prefer catfish, but today we will use tilapia! Coat the fish in a bit of mustard.



Trust me. this is going to give us the crunch we want!

lemon pepper

homemade cajun spice

After you season the fish you need to season some flour! Nope, no cornmeal this time!

Season the flour with lemon pepper seasonsed salt and a little cajun if you want.



 

Tip

after you dredge chicken or fish in flour freeze it in a ziploc. When time comes to fry fish just spike the old flour for a flavor boost! Typically after using a new poultry like fish after chicken i throw it out.

 

dredge the fish in the flour. I do 1 to 2 pieces at a time. making sure not to lose so much mustard.




 

Heat your skillet of oil to medium high.


 


Fry til crispy and golden

grits.

i guess this is the part i didnt fully think through. I should probably do a grits video.

to sum it up.

I cook my grits initially in water. Then add milk. then they cook on low close to an hr. then you can add cheese and or seasonings. I just added italian cheese blend. it was salty enough from the parmesan.
